Welcome - Anesthesia Associates of Lexington

Anesthesia Associates is the sole provider of anesthesia services at Saint Joseph Hospital (West Campus), Saint Joseph Berea, and at the New Lexington Clinic Surgery Center. We have been providing anesthesia services in Lexington, Kentucky for over 50 years. The practice has grown from four physicians in the 1960ís to 44 physicians and nurse anesthetists in 2015. Today we perform over 15,000 anesthetic procedures each year.

Among our physicians are alumni of University of Kentucky as well as many of the top colleges and Medical Schools in the country. Our physicians have trained at such prestigious programs as the Cleveland Clinic, the Mayo Clinic, Emory University, Duke University, Penn State, and Harvardís Brigham and Womenís Hospital.

We pride ourselves on providing World Class perioperative care. We have been a leader in central Kentucky in providing Transesophageal Echocardiography interpretation in the operating room during open-heart surgery. This procedure allows the surgeon to assess the progress of the surgery by taking video pictures of the inside of the heart while the patient remains asleep in the operating room. Our vigilant care in the operating room has helped Saint Joseph Hospital become one of the top 50 hospitals in the United States for heart surgery.

Each of the anesthesiology doctors in Anesthesia Associates has been awarded Board Certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). In addition, each doctor participates in continuing education studies to keep informed of all the latest scientific developments in the field of anesthesiology.

Our goal at Anesthesia Associates in to provide state-of-the-art anesthesia care. While undergoing surgery is frequently stressful for the patient and their family, we strive to provide a pleasant, relaxing environment for each patient. After arrival at any of our facilities and placement of an intravenous line, most patients are eligible to receive relaxation/sedation medication while they proceed through the perioperative process.
